In the field of zero-carbon power technology, Cummins announced the delivery of its B6.7H hydrogen fuel cell engine to Anadolu Isuzu, a well-known Turkish commercial vehicle manufacturer, for testing on its best-selling Kendo intercity bus prototype. The two companies also plan to explore extending this technology to other vehicle types, such as city buses. The hydrogen fuel cell engine boasts a rated power of 216 kW and a peak torque of 1200 Nm, achieving diesel-level performance with zero-carbon hydrogen fuel. Compared to the current Euro VI diesel engine standard, it reduces carbon emissions by over 99% and nitrogen oxide emissions to ultra-low levels, making it particularly suitable for heavy-duty applications such as intercity buses, school buses, and shuttle buses where high range reliability is crucial.
Cenk Yavuz, Director of Cummins' European Bus Business, stated that hydrogen fuel cell engine technology is a first in the bus sector, and the market urgently needs solutions that combine the performance of natural gas engines with lower emissions. This collaboration is based on the long-term accumulated experience of both companies in the research and development of natural gas-powered vehicles. Anadolu Isuzu plans to conduct comprehensive vehicle-level testing in 2026. Notably, Cummins and Anadolu Isuzu have a collaborative history spanning over a decade, with nearly 5,000 engines of various models delivered to date. This latest collaboration will further deepen their joint innovation in future power technologies.
In the agricultural power sector, Cummins announced at Agritechnica 2025 in Hanover, Germany, the official commencement of limited production of its next-generation F4.5 tractor-specific engine. This engine features a streamlined mechanical design, superior durability and reliability, significantly simplifying vehicle integration and improving maintenance convenience, precisely matching the operational needs of modern agricultural machinery. Simultaneously, Cummins' mature next-generation X15 off-road engine platform won the "Alternative Fuel Engine of the Year 2026" award from Powertrain International magazine, recognizing its industry-leading advantages in energy efficiency, emissions control, and application adaptability.
As a key component of Cummins' "Destination Zero™" strategy, this international collaboration on hydrogen fuel cell engines and the launch of new agricultural power products represent a concrete practice of its strategy of simultaneously upgrading traditional energy sources and achieving breakthroughs in zero-emission technologies. Currently, Cummins has built a complete hydrogen energy technology capability encompassing hydrogen fuel cell engines, fuel cells, electrolyzers, and hydrogen storage systems, and continues to expand its zero-emission solution matrix through its Accelera brand. Meanwhile, its technological innovations in off-road power will further contribute to the efficient and low-carbon transformation of basic industries such as agriculture globally.
Previously, Cummins disclosed in its Q3 2025 financial report that, thanks to profit growth in its power systems and distribution businesses (partly driven by the continued increase in demand for backup power for data centers), the company achieved strong operating results, providing solid financial support for its global zero-carbon technology research and development and market expansion.
