1. Global Launch of the X10 Engine
In December 2025, Cummins announced the launch of its next-generation "fuel-unrestricted" X10 engine in North America in 2026. This 10-liter engine is a key component of the X series and will gradually replace the L9 and X12, suitable for medium and heavy-duty applications. The X10 will meet the EPA's 2027 emissions regulations one year ahead of schedule, with nitrogen oxide emissions reduced by 75% compared to the 2026 launch requirements. The engine will initially be launched in a diesel version, followed by other gaseous fuel versions, and will be available in Europe, North America, and other regions.
2. 16N High-Horsepower Natural Gas Engine
On December 8, 2025, Cummins officially launched its 16N high-horsepower natural gas flagship engine in Chengdu, boasting a maximum horsepower of 720 hp and a peak torque of 3600 Nm. This engine, developed over four years of in-depth research and development and over 5 million kilometers of road testing, utilizes a new strong tumble combustion system with a high compression ratio of 15:1, combined with a deep Miller cycle, achieving exceptional fuel efficiency. Real-world testing data shows that under complex operating conditions, the engine itself can contribute approximately 4% in fuel efficiency, and combined with vehicle optimization, the overall fuel efficiency improvement can reach over 6%.
3. New Product Launch in the Power Business
On December 1, 2025, Cummins launched two new diesel generator sets, the Cummins Power 1.9MW and 2.7MW, with emissions-compliant technology, in Chongqing, and announced its microgrid hybrid technology roadmap. These products are now fully locally manufactured, accelerating the localization of high-power generator sets and technological innovation to provide data center users with greener and more environmentally friendly high-power backup power solutions.
